The article presents the comparative economic analysis for the composition of train
consisting of pocket wagons to transport 36 road semitrailers with reference to the
bimodal rolling stock consisting of 36 bimodal semitrailers.
Comparison of rolling stock weight, coefficient of dead weight, train length and costs of
rolling stock purchase for the comparable transport systems are made in the analysis.
The results of carried out analysis showed the obvious advantage of the bimodal system
for each analysed parameter.
