The article discusses the issues related to the use of energy storages on the example of Warsaw Metro. The application of stationary or vehicle energy storages is proposed based on the preliminary calculations of braking energy for metro trains operated in Warsaw. The return of financial expenditures for both types of energy storages occurs within approximately 5 years.
